Frequently Asked Questions about Commissions

  1. Are you open to commissions?

Yes - I would love to create a special piece for you or a loved one!

  2. How much time is needed for commissions?

To guarantee the utmost quality and on-time delivery, it is crucial to factor in adequate time for completion and drying. Holidays are busy, birthdays can sneak up… whatever the occasion, while I try my absolute best to accommodate, drying can take a while depending on size and complexity. We can discuss timing during the request process.

  3. How does payment for commissions work?

After confirming the details of your request with you, I’ll need a signed, approved order sheet and a 50% non-refundable deposit of the total quoted price to start working on the piece(s). The remaining 50%, plus any add-on costs requested (e.g., framing), is due prior to final delivery.

  4. What is your guidance regarding reference photos?

The most important part for me to capture your request to the best of my ability is high-quality reference photos, especially of people and pets; they need to have proper lighting, adequate resolution, no added filters, and proper angles. I’d be happy to work with you if needed! The quality of the reference photo can impact my ability to complete the request.

  5. What kind of commissions do you take?

Some examples of painting commissions are: pet portraits, wildlife, holiday ornaments, food paintings, and landscapes. I do not take commissions for logos, digital art, or complex / heavily manipulated designs.
